Samsung has produced 200 million AMOLED-panel

Samsung announced the release of a record number of AMOLED-panel. More than 5 years it took the Korean company to produce 200 million panels. Technology AMOLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diodes) used in modern displays, has significantly reduced power consumption for a deep black color on the screen and reduce the response time of the matrix. The first AMOLED-display began to be used in smartphones a few years ago, but the massive popularity of the panels of this type received after the technology Super AMOLED, as shown by the example of Samsung Wave. Soon, this example was followed by other manufacturers of smartphones.

Despite the fact that mass production of AMOLED-display began in January 2007, managed to gain large amounts only recently. Only in the last 11 months has produced 100 million Samsung panels. Koreans took 4.5 years to reach this figure. According to statistics, on average, the company produces about 100,000 AMOLED- panels.

It should be noted that AMOLED is not limited to mobile phones and tablet. 55-inch TV panel Samsung, introduced at CES 2012, also uses this technology.
