Oppo Find 5 Launched

Chinese premium handset maker Oppo launched the Find 5, its new flagship smartphone that has been talked about since August.

Its edgy silver + black design is complemented with a hefty specifications sheet. The 5-incher features 1080 x 1920 (1080p landscaped) IPS LCD display with 5-point multi-touch, 2 GB of memory, 16 GB of fixed storage, which unfortunately isn't expandable, and Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.70 GHz.

The Oppo Find 5 features a 13-megapixel camera with hardware-accelerated HDR (high dynamic range) processing for both photo and 1080p video recording (a first). The camera can record video at up to 120 frames per second, which helps with eighth slow-motion filming. Its front-camera packs an impressive 2-megapixel resolution, letting you video chat at 720p. Its audio subsystem is equally loaded, with DiracHD DSP, that comes pre-installed. Android 4.1 is the OS of choice.

The Find 5 is launched in China first, priced around the equivalent of $ 499. Its makers plan a US launch some time in January.
