Apacer Reveals New SSDs for Industrial Computers

While SATA has spread quite far and wide, IDE drives are still used by many servers, data centers and industrial systems, which is why Apacer has introduced some PATA SSDs.

There are two types of drives: in 2.5-inch form factor with 44 pin AFD 257, and 1.8-inch 40 pin AFD 187.

Both come with Full Erase, Destroy, and Write Protect, so that files stored on them may never fall into the wrong hands.

Then there is the Virtual Rewrite technology, which stores data in a temporary space. That is to say it is not written on the flash. Should abnormal activities be discovered in the system, one simple reboot will make the temporary virtual data disappear completely.

Thus, no malicious or unintentional alteration of confidential information can happen, not without destabilizing the OS installed on the drive.
