Archos GamePad Tablet Goes On Sale In The US


Archos announced today that it has launched its GamePad device in the US. After the company missed its promised February launch date, the Android Jelly Bean powered gaming tablet finally goes on sale for $179.

Archos GamePad is a 7-inch gaming device that runs most of the Google Play games. It is equipped with a dual-core ARM chip clocked at 1.6 GHz and a quad-core Mali 400 MP video card. The display supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution and there are 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of flash storage. If that is too little memory for you, it is expandable by up to 64 GB via the in micro-SD/SDHC card reader slot.

Moreover, the GamePad offers a 1.2-megapixel front facing web camera, one USB 2.0 port and a mini-HDMI output port. In terms of connectivity, the tablet has Wireless LAN. To provide quality gaming experience, there are two thumbsticks, four face buttons, a D-pad and two shoulder buttons.
