Harman Kardon unveils new AVR 2700 and 3700 AV receivers

Harman Kardon has pulled out a pair of new high quality A/V receivers for home theater enthusiast. The company says that the AVR 2700 and the AVR 3700 are able to bring superb audio and video quality to your home theater system at affordable prices. The receivers also have a very simplistic design that looks like something Apple would come up with if it made home theater hardware.

Both of the products use Harman Kardon’s high-current, ultra wide bandwidth amplifier design for audio performance. The receivers are also designed to support the latest high-definition audio and video sources featuring eight HDMI inputs each that support 3-D compatibility. Those HDMI inputs also support Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats.

The 2700 is a 7.1-Channel surround sound receiver with 100 W per channel. Its eight HDMI inputs support 3-D, Deep Color, CEC, and Audio Return Channel. Other supported features include Dolby Volume and EZSet/EQ technology. The receiver is also DLNA certified and features integrated Ethernet capability. It also supports Apple AirPlay for streaming content directly from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The receiver also supports 4K video pass-through and upscaling. The MSRP for the 2700 is $799.95.

The 3700 is a network AVR that offers 7.2-channel surround sound with 125 W of power per channel. It has integrated Wi-Fi and supports AirPlay capability. Since the receiver has built-in network connectivity, it can be controlled by an app that is available for Apple or Android smartphones and tablets. The receiver supports 4K pass-through and upscaling. It also features eight HDMI inputs and a pair of HDMI outputs. The 3700 also supports multizone functionality and carries an MSRP of $995.95.
