Panasonic Intros Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Lumix G6

For those of you that don't need the Lumix GH3's fancy video capabilities, Panasonic has introduced the Lumix G6 DSLM (Digital Single Lens Mirrorless) camera. It has a Micro Four Thirds mount and a 16-megapixel Live MOS Sensor.

Compared to its predecessor it also has an upgraded Venus Engine and an improved ISO range from 160 ISO to 25,600 ISO. Panasonic is claiming a high-speed AF system, with 'Accurate AF' and 'Low Light AF'. The Lumix G6 is also capable of capturing 7 frames per second at full resolution and 1,920 x 1,080 60p (60 Hz) / 50p (50 Hz) videos in AVCHD progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format.

The Lumix G6 comes with a new 1.44 million dot OLED viewfinder and a 3-inch touch-enabled LCD screen, which is articulated for greater flexibility while shooting and has just over a million dots. Despite aiming squarely at the RAW-shooting crowd, it still comes with integrated Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity.

There's no mention of pricing and availability in the press release but according to TechRadar the Lumix G6 will be available towards the end of May for £629/US$958/AU$934 (including 14-142mm kit lens). For more info hit the source link and make sure to check the super-long PR below.
