Iiyama ProLite T2452MTS-2, a 23.6-Inch Multi-Touch LCD

There is a new liquid crystal display on the market, one with relatively standard features, although there are some perks not usually found on PC monitors. The product is called ProLite T2452MTS-2.

Some of those familiar with the display industry might be able to recognize the ProLite brand as belonging to Japanese company Iiyama.

Indeed, the ProLite T2452MTS-2 is the newest, or one of the newest, displays to come out of that corporation’s labs.

Its 23.6 (60cm) screen is protected by a scratch-resistant glass panel, whose hardness is of 7H and thickness is of 2.5 mm.

It's not Gorilla Glass but, then again, Iiyama wasn't exactly aiming to make an expensive, feature-packed monitor here.

That said, the company did include multi-touch support, and even provided a storage type stylus.

All in all, the specifications are, so far, not too bad for a screen with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD).

Moving on, the contrast ratio is a standard 1000:1 (static), the brightness is of 260 cd/m2 (not too bad but not spectacular either) and the response time is of 5 ms (pretty normal).

Furthermore, for audio (unless owners have speakers or headphones, in which case good for them), Iiyama included a pair of built-in 2W speakers.

Finally, for connectivity and compatibility with as many PCs, media players and other sources as possible, the ProLite T2452MTS-2 boasts three video inputs: D-Sub, DVI-D and HDMI.

Finally, the newcomer has 32 ° tilt angle adjustment, RoHS 6 certification, a black coating, and full support for Windows 7, although Windows 8 should work fine too.

The Iiyama 23.6-inch ProLite T2452MTS-2 LLCD multi-touch monitor bears a price of 35,800 Yen (about $356 / €270). Sales should be underway soon, if they haven't already started, and the price may vary from retailer to retailer.
