New Nokia Lumia 525 gets official

Nokia has officially revealed the Lumia 525, a new affordable smartphone that comes to succeed the very popular Lumia 520.

As we told you earlier this month, the 525 isn’t too different from the older 520. But it does come with 1GB of RAM instead of 512MB, as well as with changeable covers (in orange, yellow and white). That aside, the Lumia 525 features the same 4 inch IPS WVGA display, HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1GHz, 5MP rear camera, 8GB of internal memory, and a 1,430 mAh battery. The handset runs Windows Phone 8 with the Lumia Black update. HERE Maps, HERE Drive and HERE Transit are included.

For now, we don’t know when or where the Nokia Lumia 525 will be available. Its price is also unknown – but less than $250 is probably a good guess.
